Develop new business with potential clients across multiple categories
Develop, manage and lead sourcing and production teams across various product categories
Develop strong mill and factory relationships and be a key strategic partner to design and sales operations team
This role is part of the executive leadership team which is responsible for overall strategic strategy and vision.
Develop strong relationships with key customers and provide innovative solutions to align with customer
Lead sourcing organization with an aggressive price negotiation foundation and collaborative approach with design/product development teams to identify cost engineering opportunities without compromising the aesthetic and quality of the garment.
Hands on, proactive management of day to day product development and production issues/challenges.
Collaborate with VP of Quality to ensure that all products achieve high quality standards including processes
to monitor quality and performance against standards.
Monitor and review supplier/vendor performance regularly and proactively meet with factory/mill management to review areas of improvement. Create and maintain vendor profiles
Oversees vendor compliance in partnership with corporate governance team to standards and ensures the
sourcing strategy is implemented in an ethical manner.
Proactively look for opportunities to expand into new countries (including emerging markets) and factories to
remain cost competitive, improve lead times and have a balanced sourcing matrix
Minimum of 20 years’ experience in sourcing and product development with at least 5 years of senior management experience in a matrix organization
Extensive experience with developing global sourcing strategy with diversified country matrix, multiple foreign offices and risk profile analysis
Extensive private label experience which includes working directly with retail customers
Experience across multiple product categories and distribution channels
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, analytical and negotiation skills
A high energy, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude with a positive approach to dealing with challenges
Attract, develop, and retain top level talent and demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and inspire a team
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business
Excellent command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
