Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead and coordinate the delivery of advanced communication systems for Singapore’s MRT and LRT stations under the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
This role calls for a seasoned expert who excels in managing complex rail infrastructure projects, possesses in-depth knowledge of railway communication technologies, and can effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully executing large-scale, high-impact projects within the rail transportation industry, with particular experience in Singapore’s rail network.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading Projects:
• Take charge of planning and delivering railway communication projects for LTA MRT/LRT stations, making sure everything gets done on schedule, stays within the budget, and meets quality expectations.
• Handle several projects at the same time, working with teams from engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Get involved in pre-sales work when needed.
Technical Know-How:
• Guide the team on both project management and technical matters related to railway communication, like train-to-ground links, CCTV, PA systems, PABX, info displays, and fiber networks.
• Make sure everything follows LTA rules, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Dealing with Stakeholders:
• Be the main contact for LTA, train operators, and other important people, building good relationships and making sure everyone’s on the same page about what needs to be delivered.
• Keep stakeholders informed, manage their expectations, and sort out any issues that come up.
Managing Risks:
• Spot and deal with risks early to keep projects running smoothly. • Have backup plans ready and take charge if problems happen.
Handling Budgets and Resources:
• Set up and look after project budgets, making sure resources are used wisely and costs are kept in check.
• Assign people, tools, and materials where they’re needed most.
Quality Checks:
• Put strong quality checks in place to make sure communication systems work as they should.
• Do regular checks and inspections to see if everything matches project requirements.
• Make sure all safety rules are followed during the project.
Building the Team:
• Help team members grow their skills and encourage teamwork and improvement.
• Lead the team so everyone’s motivated, capable, and working toward the project’s goals.
Job Requirements
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications.
• At least 15 years’ experience handling major railway communication projects, with a minimum of 10 years spent in a senior leadership position.
• Solid hands-on experience with railway communication systems and tech, especially for city rail networks. • Direct experience working with Singapore’s LTA and MRT/LRT operators is essential.
• Well-versed in project management approaches, tools, and best practices.
• Great at communicating, negotiating, and dealing with different stakeholders.
• Able to handle stress, juggle several tasks at once, and get things done quickly.
• Strong at solving problems and making good decisions when things get complicated.
