Job Description

Ensure the correct accounting treatment for capital deployment, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other non-routine or significant transactions across Asia in accordance with US GAAP and internal Finance Standards. This includes preparing thorough technical accounting assessments and documentation.

Perform accounting-focused support for M&A and divestiture activities, including reviewing financial information, assessing accounting impacts, identifying technical accounting risks, and ensuring compliance—not involvement in commercial negotiations.

Review transaction-related agreements from an accounting perspective only, to identify clauses that may affect accounting outcomes such as recognition, measurement, classification, or timing.

Lead the accounting aspects of new entity integration or divestiture by developing accounting integration plans, preparing US GAAP opening balance sheets, coordinating with relevant finance teams, and ensuring accurate financial recording on closing dates.

Maintain strong collaboration with headquarters and Technical Accounting teams by providing updates on accounting milestones and aligning on complex US GAAP treatments related to deal accounting.

Conduct functional currency assessments for newly established legal entities and document conclusions in accordance with US GAAP.

Support the implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards, including impact analysis and policy updates.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal Finance Standards related to technical accounting and transaction accounting.

Handle ad-hoc technical accounting requests and provide subject-matter expertise as needed.
Job Requirements

Minimum 8 years experience.

Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or ICAEW.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting for complex transactions.

Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin with regional stakeholders.
