Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned implant equipment specialist to join their advanced manufacturing team as a Member of Technical Staff (MTS). This is a high-impact technical role where you will own equipment performance, drive process optimization, and serve as a key problem-solver across a complex, fast-moving fab environment.
If you have deep hands-on expertise in ion implantation and a track record of delivering stable, high-yield processes in volume production, this role offers strong technical scope and meaningful cross-functional influence.
Key Responsibilities
•Own the performance, stability, and manufacturability of implant equipment in a high-volume production environment.
•Lead technical troubleshooting across process excursions, equipment drift, dose and energy issues, beam instability, contamination events, and yield detractors.
•Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions that improve tool availability, process capability, and product quality.
•Support process tuning, recipe optimization, and equipment qualification for ion implantation processes.
•Partner with Process Integration, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and Technology Development teams to ensure successful tool readiness and process ramp-up.
•Monitor and improve equipment and process metrics using SPC, DOE, FMEA, and FDC methodologies.
•Strengthen preventive maintenance, calibration practices, and tool performance standards in collaboration with maintenance teams.
•Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, BKMs, qualification reports, and process guidelines.
•Mentor junior engineers and technicians, and actively contribute to organizational knowledge-sharing.
Job Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
•10 to 15 years of experience in implant process or equipment engineering within semiconductor manufacturing.
•Expert-level hands-on experience with Axcelis and/or AMAT implant tools, covering tool setup and operation, process tuning, beam and implant parameter optimization, machine matching and qualification, and troubleshooting.
•Strong grounding in process integration, yield improvement, and defect analysis.
•Familiarity with relevant metrology and analytical methods, including sheet resistance measurement, SIMS, four-point probe, ellipsometry, and contamination/particle monitoring.
•Proficiency in DOE, SPC, FMEA, FDC, and statistical data analysis.
•Experience supporting technology transfer from development into volume manufacturing.
•Clear, confident communicator with the ability to present technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
Advantageous
•Proven track record improving tool uptime, machine matching, repeatability, and process capability.
•Experience driving innovation through technical contributions, fab improvements, or patents.
•Exposure to ISO systems, operational excellence frameworks, and structured equipment maintenance practices.
