Job Description

  • This newly created role is the company's first high-speed cable Application Engineer in Korea. The Application Engineer serves as the technical link between customers and the company's high-speed cable solutions: understanding each application, matching it to the right product or a customised design, and resolving technical requests from customers in Korea and worldwide.
  • The role reports to the regional Application Engineering Manager in Taiwan and works closely with the Korea sales team. About half the role focuses on developing customer opportunities in Korea with sales; the other half supports technical and customisation requests from Asia, Europe, and India, resolving in-scope items and escalating complex cases to the regional team. Over the first six to twelve months, the role takes on increasingly complex customisation work independently.

  • Understand customer applications and translate requirements into suitable cable and connector solutions, including customised designs
  • Handle global technical and customisation requests; resolve within scope and escalate complex cases to the regional team in Taiwan
  • Generate part numbers and customer drawings; review drawings, product prints and specifications
  • Develop customer opportunities in Korea together with the sales team
  • Communicate technical options clearly to customers and internal teams across regions

Qualifications

  • Engineering foundation in electrical, mechanical or signal integrity (one is sufficient)
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain technical options simply and work across regions
  • Working English for customer and internal discussions
  • Customer-facing judgement and ability to work independently in a small local office
  • Accuracy in reviewing drawings, prints and requirements
  • Eligible to work in Korea

Preferred

  • Knowledge of high-speed cables or connectors
  • Exposure to servers, AI hardware or data centres
  • Experience with product customisation or concept-to-release projects
  • Technical sales, application engineering or field application engineering experience
  • Customer- or OEM-side engineering experience with strong product-application knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
