Job Description

 

  • Team Coaching: Recruit, lead, and develop a team of Medical Device Sales Representatives. Conduct regular field rides to provide constructive coaching on product positioning, clinical messaging, and negotiation.

  • KPI Alignment: Establish, monitor, and manage clear sales targets, call frequencies, and performance metrics for the sales team using CRM tracking tools.

  • Sales Strategy Execution: Translate regional business goals into actionable local sales plans, identifying high-growth territories and accounts.

  • Hospital Procurement & Tenders: Oversee the end-to-end hospital listing process and government/private hospital tender submissions, ensuring compliance and strategic pricing.

  • Multilevel Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the hospital hierarchy—from purchasing officers and hospital directors to Department Heads and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) / Surgeons.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Specialists, and Marketing to coordinate technical workshops, product evaluations, and hands-on clinical trials for hospital teams.

  • Distributor Oversight: Manage and evaluate third-party distributors and sub-dealers to ensure optimum market penetration, inventory alignment, and compliance with ethical standards.

  • Market Intelligence: Track competitor product launches, pricing changes, and market shifts (e.g., healthcare reimbursement policies) to develop proactive commercial strategies.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate monthly and quarterly sales forecasts, pipeline insights, and inventory demand projections to senior leadership.


Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience in the medical device, medical equipment, or surgical supplies sector, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.

  • Industry Network: Proven, active network within target hospital networks, operating theaters (OT), or purchasing departments is highly desirable.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Portfolio Competency: Understanding of medical device classifications, regulatory compliance, and clinical applications (e.g., Capital Equipment, Consumables, Implants, or Orthopedics).

  • Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills, familiarity with hospital procurement contracts, and experience managing complex, long-cycle sales processes.

  • System Fluency: High proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva) and data tools (Excel, Power BI) to track pipelines and build business cases.

Soft Skills

  • Strategic & Collaborative: Ability to influence internal stakeholders (Regulatory, Compliance, Supply Chain) and cross-functional teams to resolve client bottlenecks.

  • Resilience & Agility: Comfortable navigating long purchasing cycles and shifting hospital budgets.

  • Communication: Excellent presentation skills, with strong professional English proficiency for corporate reporting.
