Role Overview

The Site Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing safety protocols throughout the project period. The incumbent will safeguard the well-being of all personnel on-site, enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and manage emergency procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee all safety activities and practices on-site, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Enforce safety measures across all phases of the project
  • Ensure work areas remain free from hazards and conducive to a safe working environment
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections to identify potential risks, and ensure appropriate protocols and risk mitigations are in place
  • Provide safety briefings and training to project teams and subcontractors
  • Develop, implement, and manage emergency response plans, ensuring emergency equipment is readily available and well maintained
  • Submit permit to work applications and ensure the project progresses on-site without EHS related interruptions
  • Lead emergency drills, ensuring all personnel are trained and prepared for emergency situations
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Prepare detailed incident reports documenting safety related occurrences and actions taken

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • First Aid and CPR certification, along with relevant OSH certification
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a safety supervisor or similar role
  • In depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of staff and influence safety behaviors
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions to ensure safety
