Job Description
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify and assess potential products, companies, technologies, licensing opportunities, distribution partnerships, co-promotion opportunities, and strategic alliances.
- Monitor pharmaceutical market trends, competitor activities, therapeutic areas, product pipelines, and emerging technologies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, research organizations, distributors, hospitals, and other strategic partners.
- Conduct preliminary commercial evaluations, including market size, competitive landscape, pricing, reimbursement, sales potential, and return on investment.
- Prepare business cases, financial models, opportunity assessments, and presentations for management review.
- Lead or coordinate product and partner due diligence, covering commercial, regulatory, medical, technical, quality, intellectual property, and financial considerations.
- Develop market-entry and commercialization strategies for new products and partnerships.
- Support portfolio planning and identify opportunities to expand the company’s product pipeline.
- Track and report business development activities, opportunities, deal progress, and performance against targets.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- A master’s degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Management, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Typically, 5–8 years of experience in business development, licensing, alliance management, commercial operations, or a related role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical licensing, product evaluation, partnership development, or commercial deal negotiation.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug development, regulatory processes, market access, and commercialization principles.
- Understanding of licensing agreements, distribution arrangements, co-promotion agreements, supply agreements, and other strategic partnership structures.
- Strong commercial, financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Experience conducting market research, competitor analysis, due diligence, and financial evaluation.
